The Prestige Club of Nigeria held its first general meeting for the year 2026 on Sunday, 8th February 2026, at the residence of Prestigian Prince Val Orhibabor, located off Lucky London Street, Osubi.
Opening Session
The meeting commenced with an opening prayer led by Prestigian Chief Moses Uparan.
The President, Prestigian T. Afi, welcomed members and expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His faithfulness throughout 2025 and for bringing members into the new year 2026 in good health.
Key Discussions and Resolutions
1. 2025 End-of-Year Party Report
The Welfare Chairman, Prestigian Victor Sadoh, presented the report of the club’s 2025 end-of-year party.
The report was unanimously accepted, and Prestigian Ola Johnson, on behalf of the club, commended the committee for a job well done.
2. Members’ Indebtedness
It was noted that members’ indebtedness to the club was high.
The Financial Secretary, Welfare Chairman, and General Secretary were advised to collaborate in calculating outstanding debts arising from:
- Monthly dues
- Plate wash
- Social obligations
- Absenteeism at social functions
This measure is aimed at improving revenue collection and strengthening the club’s finances.
3. Welfare Support for Accident Cases
The Welfare Chairman briefed the house on support for members involved in vehicle accidents.
It was agreed that ₦5,000 would be contributed by each member, and the sum shared between the Immediate Past President (IPP) and the President, whose vehicles were involved in accidents last year, with ₦50,000 allocated to each.
4. Bereavement Support
Two members, Prestigian P.E.R. Obire and Prestigian Afolabi, lost their parents in the previous year.
Members were advised to prepare for their contributions toward the burial ceremonies.
Closing
The closing prayer was said by the President, Prestigian T. Afi, at about 5:00 pm.
The host, Prestigian Prince Val Orhibabor, generously entertained members after the meeting.
