The Prestige Club of Nigeria held its August monthly meeting on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the residence of Prestigian Ola Johnson, No. 16 Okiki Street, Off Airport Road, Warri.
Opening Session
The meeting commenced at 1:00 PM with an opening prayer led by Prestigian Louis Obukowho. In the absence of the President, Prestigian Afi Titus Akpan, the General Secretary, Prestigian Segun Olanipekun, briefly stood in until the President’s arrival.
Five members sent apologies for absence or lateness. With nine members already seated, the quorum was met.
Reading and Adoption of Minutes
The Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting. After minor corrections, the minutes were adopted following a motion by Prestigian Ola Johnson, seconded by Prestigian Kingsley Eluma.
Matters Arising
1. Review of Plate Wash Fee
The club agreed to fix the plate wash fee at ₦1,500, effective August. The host’s family will receive ₦20,000.
2. Membership Status – Prestigian Babs Adeleye
Upon joining the meeting, the President called Prestigian Babs Adeleye to clarify his membership intentions. He opted to place his membership on hold.
3. Membership Confirmation – Prestigian Enakpoya
The club could not reach Prestigian Enakpoya for confirmation. The President will follow up and report back in the September meeting.
4. 2025 End-of-Year Party
The Welfare Chairman, Prestigian V.I. Sadoh, presented a proposal for the club’s 2025 End-of-Year Party. Members will bring their copies for discussion at the next meeting.
5. Land Acquisition for the Club
While land acquisition had previously been agreed upon, members sought clarification on benefits for a deceased member’s family, particularly if the member had made significant contributions. The committee will investigate and report back.
A proposal for an annual ₦50,000 levy was put to vote. After a tie, the President cast the deciding vote in favor of making it a compulsory yearly levy.
Additionally, following the IPP’s 70th birthday celebrations, Dr. Brown Ogbeifun donated ₦150,000 to the club. The President added ₦50,000, and other members also contributed.
6. IPP’s 70th Birthday Party Attendance
The celebrations took place on Friday, August 8 at DY Event Centre, Edjeba, and Saturday, August 9 at the NNPC Senior Staff Open Field. Attendance by members was below expectations, prompting a call for improved participation.
Fines were imposed:
- Members absent both days: ₦3,000
- Members who attended Saturday only: ₦1,500
Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 6:10 PM following a motion by Prestigian Ola Johnson and seconded by Prestigian Kingsley Eluma.

Prestigian Oki led the closing prayer.
Entertainment
The host, Prestigian Ola Johnson, provided refreshments and entertainment for the members.
